While I wait to get the go-ahead on my Optical Boutique I have finished some new bagz designs. Lots of Swarovski Crystals! They will be posted on the website soon so you can purchase them there!

Last Week

I found out on Thursday that I had breast cancer. My insurance ran out on Sunday so on Friday I had a lumpectomy and I am now 100% cancer free. It really isn't something you think about until they tell you. I was always at peace and never worried. I just knew it would all be good, as it was. My biggest worry was "would this effect my new business?". NOT AT ALL! If anything, it has fueled me even stronger to stay going straight ahead. The decorating thoughts are overwhelming and so much fun ~ there are so many possibilities. I know what I want and it will be like no other.

The girls have arrived!

Wanted to share my new "girls" for the new shop. I got them on ebay and they are FABULOUS! It will be fun decorating and I promise it will be a one-of-a-kind optical shop when I get done.

It's official!

Hooray! They have accepted my offer so Eyebagz Optical is coming!! We will carry only the best in European frames and specialize in progressive bifocals. All of us boomers need'em.

We are hoping to open in January 2009. Wait until you see what I am going to do to the shop; it will be gorgeous when I get through. No place will look like mine and service is a must.

Whohoo..... here we go.......

Paperwork!

I have finally gotten ALL of the paperwork and am just waiting to see if my offer has been accepted. Next comes a business plan, which I am working on now. Such an exciting time and alittle un-nerving also. I know the easy part is over and now comes the hard part- paying for it! No problems (so far)!!! Keep watching for the progress as we go along.

Eyebagz Optique is almost born....

It is almost official! I will be taking over this sad shop and turning it into a fab eyewear boutique! It has been there for 14 yrs. and is so melba toast looking. I'll keep you informed as I go.

My New Office!

Negotiations are under way for me to open my own practice FINALLY! After 30 yrs. of being an Optician, I have finally decided to take the bite and go for it. Hopefully, if all goes well, my Optical Shop will be in Newport Beach, CA. I will offer things that you won't be able to get anywhere else and also specialize in progressive bifocals as all of us Boomers age. Stay tuned for more info. as I go along. My blog will be a way to keep everyone up to date and also a place to post how I am going about this whole, complicated ordeal. As my dear 30yr. friend Eric of Styleyes in Sacramento as my mentor, I am one lucky gal! And as he says "it's not IF it's WHEN"!
